it’s a bit scary at your place I think. How do you get to the shop when the road is blocked? How do you stop your milk freezing? How do you get to the doctors? What happens if your son disappears in deep snow? What do you do with all the snow once you get it off the roof? What if your husband falls off the roof. I am a worrier, clearly you are not!
Crikey, that really is a lot of snow. I was just complaining about the cold here because the temperature in Paris was -3 this morning. I wouldn’t last five minutes in Lapland!
We had to send our boys up onto the barn roof too during the Christmas Holidays, they weren’t too thrilled – it’s a steel roof. But luckily the barn isn’t very tall All survived, the weather is much warmer now, so the snow is slowly melting. Have a wonderful week! Oh – mailing me swap tomorrow – this is so much fun!!
We are much more geared up to having snow here – roads are opened with snow plows as soon as it starts to snow, you can always use the roads, get to the doctors etc. We don’t have milk men and have to buy it from the shop. And if he fell off the roof, then well…I guess I would hope he fell on top of the big pile of snow… the snow just melts away in the spring. May is an awful month, all that snow turns to water and we live on a large muddy lake for a month.
ha ha ha. It is such a bigger deal in the Uk ´, snow isn’t it? But then you don’t have snow plows that come out each time it snows and studded tires on your cars, that kind of thing so it makes it harder…
I think the orange jumo suit and pointy hat is a government standard – everyones’ kids seem to be dressed the same. Sometimes it’s hard to tell which is yours from a distance…
Thank you, did you like it? I just figured out how to edit my humongous 10 min vid full of boring shit down to 3 nice ones. It was dead easy using windows movie maker.
It did kind of resonate with me causer I never told him about my cold aversion and he told me about a previous life-tough one I might add….maybe will blog about it one day.
You should, this stuff fascinates me. I’m not sure what i believe in, past lives and all that stuff, and yet i find it endlessly interesting to hear these stories
Wow, that is a lot snow. Aren’t you looking forward to spring? My friend in Sweden once told me, Spring starts very late in the North of Sweden, in the end of May. Spring lasts a very short time, because Summer kicks in almost right away. It probably is the same in your area, isn’t it. Oh yes. I would like you to know how much I appreciate it that you comment on my comment. There are few people in Blogland who do that. Thank you!
completely! We don’t really have spring so much as melt. May the snow starts to melt away and it is a wet and muddy horrible time of the year and then it’s summer.
The snow is jaw dropping and your little one wibbling about it it in a miniature snowsuit and sweet hat makes the broody fairy work over time ( :
I will whinge no more about having huff and puff with our snow shovel thingie.
Well. Unless it snows again that is.
Your husband is a lot more stoic than mine, here is the Sock Dropper bemoaning how hard done by he is when tackling the snow last January (ie not this one where I refused to even venture out in the snow this year in a mammoth sulk about the constant occurrence of wet, cold stuff)
ha ha, he did not look best pleased on the video! But it was a lot of snow, do you have to clear the drive by hand? wouldn’t fancy that much – thank God for tractors, i say!
The video camera is my phone. A Nokia N900, brilliant phone and it takes really good pictures as well as decent video. It’s better than my digital camera which i never use anymore because I have this.
Wow, Heather!! That is a LOT of snow. I’m from Chicago originally and used to trudge to work in enormous piles of snow. Now I live in Texas and we hardly ever get any. This year we got just a couple of inches and the children thought it was nirvana. I’m done with snow myself. Wouldn’t mind if I never had to live in it again. But it always looks like a lot of fun in pictures and esp. in your vlog. All white and shiny and beautiful. You have a really cool farm by the way. And your little boy was too cute running around in it.
wow! i´m actually online today because we are in the middle of a snow storm and i don´t want to go out there. i´m so ready for spring. hugs dear heather!
I showed this to Husband last night who was enthralled. He would love to have this sort of job to do. Currently, he makes do with rushing outside every time it rains to ‘check on the gutters’ – somehow the snow seems slightly more magical!
My hubby is the same, he loves the outside work. If he’s got a day off work 8which happens about once a fortnight – he’s a fisherman) he spends almost the whole day outside tinkering and doing ‘important’ manly jobs!
Tsk, buying potatoes? Whatever next? I now feel majorly wimpy complaining about lack of heating this week. It is beautiful, but I’m not sure I could cope with the cold.
I don’t know how the heck you live in so much snow! I would kill myself!
I am soo cold just watching!

Oh. My. God. I will never complain about the snow in Britain ever again (much).
My goodness, it must take you three hours to get dressed in enough layers each morning!
Loving your little ones orange jumpsuit and pointy hat combo.
Wow. You know I forgot to say that you sound just like I expected you to…
The wow was at the snow btw. Not your voice…
Crikey, that really is a lot of snow. I was just complaining about the cold here because the temperature in Paris was -3 this morning. I wouldn’t last five minutes in Lapland!
Great vlog.
Hee hee…that is a TON of snow! What great new editing as well…what HAVE you done? Love your Little Boy’s snow suit.
Well done my friend!
Karin

ha ha ha, you get used to it. and you wear a lot of clothes!

Not enough clothing in the world!
Maybe I just have a bad memory of dying in a previous life from the cold (I was told that in one life about 100 years ago that’s the way I went…)

Really? I have the oddest accent having travelled so much and lived all over the UK and now here. I hate my voice on camera!
oh poo, and there was me thinking you were bowled over by my dulcet tones.
minus 3? ha ha, i laugh in the face of your puny minus three and throw a whopping -25 right back at you!
It doesn’t feel as cold as you might think though, cause it’s not a damp cold, it’s really dry air.
Thank you, did you like it? I just figured out how to edit my humongous 10 min vid full of boring shit down to 3 nice ones. It was dead easy using windows movie maker.
i hate going up, i’m always sure i’m going to fall off and become a useless nervous wreck.
Bloody hell! I thought *we* got snow here, but this is nothing compared to yours. Hoping it warms up soon for you.
really? Wow, that’s quite fascinating…
thank you, it hasn’t been so bad recently and the sun at least comes up properly these days so things are on the up!
Fascinating! I love your vlogs Heather – so interesting! And I love your little orange padded munchkin!
Thank you my dear, it’s nice to see how other live – or at least i think so
being a nosy bint that i am!
How often do you get snow there? Is it there for most of the year? It would drive me crazy but like you said your used to it!!
It did kind of resonate with me causer I never told him about my cold aversion and he told me about a previous life-tough one I might add….maybe will blog about it one day.
Holy moly thats a LOT of snow. Your little guy is so cute in his snow suit x

usually from late Nov early Dec to May we have snow and then in the summer its really hot and full of mosquitoes and stuff. Strange country.
It is a lot, i hope we don’t get much more now – this is just fine for me.

What make of video camera are you using ? It is lovely and clear, my poor palm pilot is really rubbish in comparison.
OK Heather, you win. You have more snow than we do… And btw, I’ve put you up as British Mummy Blogger of the Week. Best, PM

Not so much snow around Moscow then? Although you are a lot more south than we are so maybe that’s it!
and thank you so much, that is briliant! I’m quite blown away to be honest. thank you again!
Amazing & very beautiful. I will never winge about too much snow again! My little boy would love, love, love that! Great Vlog! Cx

Until I saw that I didn’t think there could ever be such a thing as too much snow.
it is so much fun for the kids – when its warm enough for them to go out in it
Thank you! I quite like the snow, i just wish it wasn’t around for quite so long -5 to 6 months of the year is way too long for me.
ha ha ha, and apparently there is more coming!
wow! i´m actually online today because we are in the middle of a snow storm and i don´t want to go out there. i´m so ready for spring. hugs dear heather!
I’ve never had to go up on my roof to clean snow. For which I’m thankful. Because I would fall off.
I bet you’re wondering when it will ever stop. Really interesting once again…thanks.

I know that feeling well! Our spring doesn’t arrive until May though. quite
a while to wait still…
Me too! I’ve been up there once and was convinced i was about to plunge to
my death! Never again!
We had more today

Hi, found this picture online and it reminded me of this vlog! http://kuvaton.com/browse/14218/meanwhile_in_finland.jpg

you do get used to the cold, honest. The digging your potatoes out of the
cellar? Not so much.
