Another Great Parenting Moment
No darling, you’ve not finished your breakfast.
Mummy, biscuit.
No darling, you’ve got to eat your breakfast first.
Mummy, biscuit.
No sweetheart, no biscuits. Eat your breakfast.
Mummy, biscuit
No.
Mummy, biscuit.
You are not having a biscuit. Sit down and eat.
Mummy, biscuit.
Sigh.
Mummy, biscuit.
No.
Mummy biscuit.
I’ve told you no. Now sit down and eat your breakfast.
Mummy, biscuit.
No!
Mummy, biscuit.
No, no biscuits. Go and eat your breakfast
Mummy, biscuit

Mummy, biscuit.
No! Now go and eat your breakfast. I’ve told you already, you can’t have a biscuit until you’ve eaten up all your breakfast. If you’re a good boy and sit down at the table and eat it all up, then you can have a biscuit. But first you need to eat your breakfast.

Mummy?
Yes darling.
Biscuit.
No.
Biscuit.
No.
Biscuit.
No.
Biscuit.
Oh for pities sake, here, have a biscuit and leave me alone!

I'm Heather, an ex expat, now back in blighty and living in Lancashire. Which is just like Lapland only less snowy...and stuff.

FFS what is it with the damn kids and biscuits. Suppertime last night my youngest demanded biccie, biccie, biccie No, no, NO!! And then went “no want pasta, want biccie!!”
BNM
Yep. Been there and done that. Still at least ours will go back and finish what he was supposed to be eating afterwards so I can't really complain.
Hahaha sorry. They grind you down don't they. I hate to break this to you but they become more and more skilled at it as they become older too. My eldest can get me to change my mind without me even realising that I've been manipulated into it. He's going to make one great hostage negotiator one day.
PMSL! So very real. Exactly what happens to me. Exactly!
lol, I had the same conversation this morning but with ice cream!
I think we've all been there. If it makes you feel any better, it was chocolate buttons for a while with mine.
Yep this sounds exactly like my household too!!!
Little darlings, aren't they?
Little darlings, aren't they?
ah, if only!
ah, if only!
That really is worrying. He's not even 2 yet!

they really know how to wear you down, don't they?

ah yes, we have the ice cream one a lot too. Strangely though only in cold weather, it seems

Oooh, if it were chocolate buttons they wouldn't stand a chance. i'd have eaten them all whilst they were sleeping! lol

Lol, good to hear it isn't just me and mine!

Ha! Still going through this with 15 yr old. Although with him, it's more about taking him somewhere or making him something. I just hold on to the hope that one day (far, far) in the future he will suffer the same torture.
LOL and that's exactly why he keeps asking. Why are they so damn good at wearing us down eh?? >_< I'm my own worst enemy for things like that too. Cannot wait till Zack starts school in just over 3 wks! lol
Lol – been there many times!
ha, been there seen it done it! then do you worry about the sugar and salt content in the biscuits? hide them? buy plain instead of chocolate to throw them off the scent? they are always found and eaten … the worst thing is there's never one left for me!
They sleep? When? Why aren't you asleep at the same time?!
Sounds like my house, particuarly with our little Ruby, who can twist us round her little finger with so much ease!!!
these little people are so unbelievably persistent aren't they – and often win hands down!
Oh dear…your child has mastered the art of “persistent”. My brother's child is also that way – persistent whenever he wants to get something he wants. My Mom says that the good thing about this is that if he wants to learn something, he's going to pursue it with the same kind of persistence.
Oops typo…I mean the art of “persistence”.
he he, I am glad I am not the only one giving up sometimes
ha ha great post, I was going to give in if you didn't!
More wine please.
Sorry, that's not very helpful, is it?
LCM x
Ha, ha! Here! Here! It takes nerves of steel being a parent and you have a very determined child
Ahh, brings back memories.
Now it's “Mu-u-u-um, where's the biscuits?”
“I ate them all, tough shit.”
Yes! YES!!!! This is totally my life. Thank you for your honesty. Now I can serve my children biscuits for every meal and not feel so alone. (Okay. I'm just kidding. Not EVERY meal. But maybe one meal a day would be okay though?)
He won… you know he did… the next battle is going to be so much harder and he's going to win again…
Please blog about it bwahahahahaha
Lots of love from a parent who went through it three times and survived and is going through it again with grandchildren *falls over with exhaustion*
I shouldn't laugh at this. But I must. Pester power rules…
oh I know this SOOOOOOOOOOOOO well…
