So it snowed a bit lately

…and other understatements of the year.

For the last four weeks it has done little but bluming snow. And yes it’s all very festive, and yes it looks very pretty. But to be quite honest, it would look just as pretty and festive if it stopped snowing now.

Are you listening, you fickle and irritating God of weather? MAKE  IT STOP

Cause I’m sick of having to dig my car out of the snow every day.

But I know you’re only here to see the pictures of it looking all pretty and snowy and stuff, and not to listen to my whinging and whining about the snow, so here you go…

I’m such a people pleaser.

There, I hope you’re happy now. *wanders of muttering to self*

  1. Well we haven’t had a drop here!

Send some South. None in Helsinki, much to the disappointment of my UK guests…

  3. Steph says:

Aw it *is* pretty, but I get annoyed with snow after about a day here, and I am in the south of england, so I understand how you feel (except probably not as I haven’t ever had to actually dig my car out of snow) x

It is , it is. and it looks lovely in the pictures. It’s just the reality of the cold, wet stuff that’s not so wonderful. Well, not all the time, anyway :)

  4. Steve says:

Yup. That is waaaay too much snow. Waaaay too much.

    It’s raining here.

  5. Amel says:

We have a lot of snow too (esp. today)…what helps us is having a kind of “tent-like garage” in the yard so snow won’t cover up the whole car and we use the kind of timer for the car heater to help get rid of frost.

    • Heather says:

Hi Amel! I know the tent like garage you speak of, I guess I should get one. Or make room for my car in our enormous (but somehow completely full and only has room for 1 car) 4 car garage. We have a timer. I don’t know how to work it. Seriously, it beats me every time. Yes, I am that inept :D

      • Amel says:

HE HE HE…I can’t drive and have no driver’s license, so I’m also inept hi hi hi…but good thing we live close to downtown so I can get by on my bike. Don’t worry about being inept, though he he…it’s kinda hard to use the timer unless you have such a regular schedule, I suppose.

  6. I marvel that you even make it out of the house! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could send you a little of our heat, and you could swap us with some snow? Kids would love a white Christmas just this once. Happy New Year to you and yours! x

  7. Here in Jerusalem, every three years or so we get about 1cm of snow. The whole city shuts down, schools are closed and the buses stop running. No one goes out – except to build snowmen. If Israelis lived where you live we’d be indoors watching dvds for six months of the year.

    Happy New Year Xx

You can send some of that gorgeous snow this way if you can spare some, Little Man got a sledge for Christmas that we are just dying to play on and I got new snow boots for my Birthday that I so need to test out too, but typically enough we have no snow forecast any time soon :(

  9. Iota says:

You’re right. I did come over for some snow eye candy! I’ll take the whingeing too, though.

I was going to suggest that you build a shelter for your car – and also one for all those logs you have to fetch for your shower. I forced my ex almost at gunpoint (as in, if I had had one I would have used it and he knew it) to build me a huge porch that I could fill with logs during better weather, right outside my front door. It was wonderful.

Every year or two we get huge amounts of snow in Chicago and it makes life incredibly difficult, especially when it doesn’t melt until about April and we end up with ten foot piles of snow everywhere. Very pretty, but I know what you mean.

  13. Actually Daddy would be in 7th heaven if he saw that much snow! I’ll send him over ;)

    That’s where our snow is!!

  15. I really love to see snows and I love to make a snow man. I wish I could make it someday, it is really fun snowing.
